Smooth finish WPC internal door

Smooth Finish

Minimalist and modern, perfect for contemporary interiors.

The clean, smooth surface delivers a crisp architectural look that complements any colour scheme and is easy to maintain for everyday living.

Woodgrain Finish

Textured woodgrain WPC internal doors that replicate the natural look of timber while providing the strength, stability and durability of WPC.

The subtle grain finish adds warmth and character without the maintenance or warping of timber.

What is WPC?

Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) is a high-performance material engineered from a precise formulation of PVC base, calcium carbonate (CaCO₃), wood fibre, and specialised forming additives.

The result is a durable, dimensionally stable solution that combines the visual warmth of timber with the reliability of modern construction materials. Following the extrusion process, the door is finished with a PVC film layer, providing a waterproof surface while delivering a refined wood-textured appearance.

(Natural Texture)

Natural Wood Fibre

Integrated within the internal structure to support material balance, contributing to improved stability and overall consistency of the composite.

Polymer / PVC base — core structural material for WPC doors

Polymer
(Core Structure)

Polymer / PVC Base

Forms the main body of the door, delivering strength, rigidity, and full waterproof performance while supporting long-term structural stability.

Calcium carbonate mineral filler for structural reinforcement in WPC

Calcium Carbonate
(Structural Reinforcement)

Mineral-Based Filler (CaCO₃)

Increases density and stiffness while improving dimensional stability, helping reduce warping and maintaining consistent performance over time.

Performance Additives

Support smooth material flow and consistent shaping during manufacturing, ensuring a stable internal structure and uniform profile formation.

Difference between WPC Internal Doors and Traditional MDF Internal Doors

WPC Internal Doors

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) combines wood fibers and plastic to create a strong, durable material. Unlike traditional wood or MDF doors, WPC doors are waterproof, termite-resistant, and highly durable, making them ideal for areas with high moisture/humidity countries like New Zealand. They are low-maintenance, won't warp or crack easily, and can be designed to look like real wood while offering long-lasting performance.

MDF Internal Doors

MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) is an engineered wood product made from fine wood fibres bonded together with resin. In most internal doors, MDF is used as thin outer skins fixed over a lightweight honeycomb cardboard core, with timber stiles and rails providing structural support. This type of construction keeps doors cost-effective but relies on paint finishes and sealed edges to help protect against moisture and long-term wear.

Key Comparison Factors

Environmental Resistance

Resistance to humidity, improved resistance to fire.

WPC: Fully moisture-resistant – ideal for humid NZ homes. B1 Flame retardant - self-extinguishing and low toxicity.

MDF: Absorbs moisture, causing swelling and warping, higher flame spread rating and emits formaldehydes when burning.

Complete Door Kits

Ease of purchasing the materials all in one place.

WPC: Supplied as complete door kits for quick & easy installation, making it a more cost and time-effective solution.

MDF: Typically supplied as a door only – additional components and contractors required.

Durability & Strength

Ability to withstand daily use, impacts, and long-term wear.

WPC: Tested to EN 12608-1 standards, demonstrating high impact resistance and dimensional stability.

MDF: Deformation and cracks might be triggered by moisture, improper installation, or stress at joints.
